Hello all!
It's September—time for the Corn Moon, the autumn equinox, and the harvest season!
Last month, I've been working on a few commissions, and I've got more in the pipeline that will keep me busy in the short term. On that topic, I have modified the process in my website to request for a commission. There is now a submission form located here: Request a Commission – Keerthana Jhutty. The previous process required payment in advance. Now, you can simply submit a form with reference pictures and your requirements, and we can discuss the next steps.
I've also been collecting references and sketching thumbnails for a brand new series. Here's a hint of what it's about:
This photo was taken by my neighbor's father, who was a cowboy in the 1940s. I'm currently collaborating with him on this series. His family's ranch, which is now part of Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan, is steeped in lore. He has stories about coyotes surrounding him on a hill when he was just eight years old and riding a horse to school. But I don't want to give too much away—you'll see more soon.
I have also been working on some experiments on figure to test how best to incorporate them into my paintings.
I will be studying figure from Aaron Sidorenko at AUArts this fall to continue the experiments and sharpen my skills.
Finally here are some fun live sketches from my recent trip to Ottawa.
That's all for now!
I hope you have a wonderful fall.
